Study Up is a free, independent website and app for revising for the Life in the UK test. This page explains what information it keeps and why.

Using Study Up without an account

Your practice scores and progress are saved in your browser on your device. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data, or uninstalling the app, removes them.

If you create an account

Sign-in is handled by Clerk. Clerk stores your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the name and profile picture Google shares.

We store your saved progress, linked to your account: your best mock test score, your recent practice and mock test results, and how many questions you have answered correctly in each topic. We use it only to show your progress on any device you sign in on.

Analytics

We count page visits and use of some practice features, such as whether an event-ordering round was answered correctly, to see what is useful. This analytics does not use cookies, does not record your answers or anything you type, and is not used to identify you.

Services we use

  • Replit hosts the website, the database that holds saved progress, and the lesson videos.
  • Clerk runs sign-in and sets the cookies needed to keep you signed in.
  • Google Fonts supplies the typefaces; your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address.

We do not sell your information, show adverts or share your information with anyone else.

Deleting your account and progress

Signed in, go to Your progress and choose Delete my account. This deletes your account and saved progress straight away. You can also email hello@studyup.uk from the address you signed up with and we will delete them for you.

Progress saved without an account stays on your device; clearing your browser data, or uninstalling the app, removes it.
